Is it good idea to leave your information when you visit an open house hosted by the seller who is selling by himself? I would say 'No' as you are never sure where your personal information shall be used.

The real estate sales representatives and brokerages are strictly governed by the Privacy Laws and will never sell your information to the third party.  Therefore your information is completely safe when you leave it during the open house visits on houses listed by the real estate agents.  The agents merely use your information to provide feedback to their seller client but it is not left with the sellers. On the other hand you don’t know what type a seller himself is?  How he will use your information? So my advice, take it or leave it: Be extra cautious when you leave your information with sellers directly. Take your agent with you and let him negotiate for you. He won’t let you leave your personal information and keep your interests the safest. Thanks for a read.
